University Chaplain and Centre Director
Alex Goldberg is the Senior and Jewish Chaplain to the University of Surrey and has been in post since 2003. The Chaplaincy is there to support all students and staff and promote Jewish life at the University of Surrey. The University now has a Jewish Common Room. and is developing a its Multifaith Centre. Alex serves as one of the Director's to this centre. The chaplaincy activities extend to the College of Law, Guildford and the Guildford School of Acting (Conservatoire), the latter is in the process of merging with the University of Surrey. In 2011, he acted as the cultural adviser to the GSA's production of Fiddler on the Roof performed at Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud and the Act One's recent play 'Terezin'. Alex is a member of the national Jewish National Chaplaincy team. In addition, Alex was honoured to be Chaplain to the London Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012. He is also a Chaplain to Surrey Police.
